Layout of the site makes it VERY difficult to stay for a longer time - reading the long text in a very narrow column forces an user to scroll a lot. Even for an intrested person like myself after a while it becomes annoying and effectively shortens the time of the visit. Form of presentation is as important as the contents.
Note to the web designer : change the fixed width to fluid ones. Let the user decide what is a preferred width of the line.

In an earlier iteration, we tried breaking each chapter up into multiple pages, but it broke the commenting system down, which we regard as being of prime importance for this sort of collaborative project. Long form narratives are still much easier to read end to end in book format. This kind of platform however allows a new dimension to the text–an interactive one, which we think is extremely valuable. We think this should be regarded as a supplement or an addition to the book as opposed to a substitution for the book. That being said, we’ll look into making the experience easier on the eyes.
Love the commenting system and the granular addressability. However, it would be nice to have much more horizontal text to make it easier to read. Perhaps you can have a splitter where you can pull the commenting system over. The layout needs some work, but again I love the innovation happening in terms of creating a hypertext community around the text.
