Two days ago I got the first copy of my new book. I just want to sit and stare at it. I am actually contemplating knitting a little blanket to carry it around in, so it doesn’t get frayed as I show it off.

So today I was getting my toes done in preparation for a vacation with my family. I (of course) brought my book to show Jessica, my nail technician. To my right was a grandmother-to-be. When she saw my book, she told me about how her daughter is so nauseated it is hard for her to go to school (she is studying to be a rabbi) and how her daughter is having trouble hiding the fact that she is pregnant because she is so sick. To my left, a woman sat down and said “I just had to get my hair all chopped off because I am pregnant and I feel so dumpy I had to do something.” Needless to say I passed my book around and talked it up. Jessica said if I had a few with me I could have made some sales. Maybe this publicity thing won’t be so hard, after all…
