Telegram from Dimitrov to Moskvin regarding Dimitrov's secretary.

16 October 1938.

To com. Moskvin.[i]

Since my secretary [E. Valter] has been relieved [of work], let her pass on to Krylova,[ii] in the presence and under the supervision of Andreev,[iii] all the registered files. It should be explained to her that the issue [at hand] is the necessity of renewing the apparatus.

Since we have relieved her from work, she also has to be an offered appropriate salary.

[ii] Maria Fyodorovna Krylova. Born in 1891, she joined the Bolshevik party in 1918. In 1939, she was deputy head of the ECCI Secretariat’s Bureau, and later the head of the Translations Department. On 30 April 1941, she was transferred to another job for violating rules of secrecy.

[iii] Matvei Zakharovich Andreev. Born in 1888, he was an RSDRP(b) member from 1915. In 1921-1930, he worked in the Moscow division of the OGPU. Between 1930 and 1932, he attended classes on Marxism-Leninism in the VKP CC. In 1932, he was a sector head in one of the departments of the CC VKP. Between 1938 and 1939, he worked in the ECCI’s Cadres Department.
